Never over work your body. Even if you are on a strict schedule where you need to go to the gym or workout certain days, give your body a rest.
Spend less time worrying about how out of shape you’ll get if you miss a workout, and more time worrying about how your body feels. If you over exhaust your body, it will harm it. You need to listen to your body and if you just aren’t feeling up to a workout, than don’t sweat it! You won’t be thrown off your game, and you won’t have any changes in your body.
The most important thing you can do is work when you want to, but also rest when you need to. And if you need 2 or 3 rest days in a row, then that is completely fine. It’s good for your body to rest because it allows those muscles that you worked to heal and repair themselves.
Sometimes you just need to take it slow and put the rest of the world on hold to do what’s right for you. And if that means just taking an hour to lie down and watch tv, or eat oatmeal and meditate, then so be it. Whatever helps you in being the best that you can be, then by all means, do it.
